“Glisk” - A brand new exhibition inspired by my roots in the North-East of Scotland in collaboration with Art Photographer Olek Budzisz. Having grown up surrounded by folk music, stories, art and the Doric language, this was finally a chance to explore ideas very close to my heart through my artistic practice. Almost everything I write now starts in a sketchbook and is created via visual stimulus, and this project gives a real insight into how this works.

Everything I write begins with a visual idea. A sketch, photograph, text or story. I write almost everything down to the littlest of details, this could be anything from - A textural idea, to more elaborate or concrete musical ideas. For this project, in particular, Olek and I worked together closely to choose the format in which we would work, this happened to take many forms. Double Exposure, gifs, blurred and stills. We looked at and studied the texts and created images that help tell the various stories.
